Join the Leadership Institute for its Debate Workshop. Dr. John Shosky, former speech writer for the Reagan and both Bush administrations, will offer an overview of debate, teaching you how to effectively prepare, take control, and win.
You will learn how to:
John Shosky is the president of Roncalli Communications, Inc. He has been a professional speechwriter, consultant, coach, and trainer for over twenty-eight years. He has written more than 2800 speeches for government officials, political candidates, university presidents, and public interest advocates. This amounts to roughly seven million words on the public record. He has been a speechwriter at the highest levels of government. Dr. Shosky has served in the Reagan, Bush (41) and Bush (43) Administrations, working in the Executive Office of the President, White House Public Affairs, The Department of Health and Human Services, The Department of Education, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. He has also worked extensively for clients in the private sector. In addition, Dr. Shosky has published more than seventy articles or editorials. He is the author of two books: Speaking to Lead, London: Bite Back Publishing 2010, and The Words of our Time, London: Bite Back Publishing 2012. He is currently working on a book about Prime Minister's “Question Time.” There is an academic side to his life. He has taught more than 190 university courses at seven colleges or universities, including American University, George Mason University, and Charles IV University (Prague). Dr. Shosky has taught courses in speech communication, philosophy, justice, physics, and international relations. Periodically he is a visiting fellow in the Czech Academy of Sciences. Since 1997 he has been a visiting senior member of Linacre College in the University of Oxford.
